i have an s14 with a s13 sr and im not sure which intercooler to get. I though that it should match the motor(s13) but the shop around here said it needs to match the body. But i just dont see how that would work so im just wondering which yall used and the people that did it them selves which kits do you like the most? I think im gonna run a greddy kit but im not sure.

Either way you go, You'll have to modify one pipe. As far as I know, none of the kits will directly match up.

i would think match the body cause the motors are pretty much the same but the body is at different dimensions for the piping route

Just get your hotpipe and your cold pipe custom made. Just buy the core yourself and have the shop do the piping.

you need the s13 kit if you have a s13 sr20........my friend has a s13 hks fmic kit i sold him for his s14. fits well. you shouldnt have to modify any of the pipes if you have a s13 hot pipe.

If your going name brand kits...id suggest either Blitz or HKS since the pipings are perfect.
fmic kits are engine specific not chassis specific.

I just got A big ass Spearco front mount. It is 33.5" x 12" x 3" so now I shall find a way to put it on the front of my car. It was 630 shipped, but is a bar and plate type unlike the tube and fin kind. I just orderd it today so I will post it, in the next couple of days. If you have a grand to spend, dont mind not having a bolt in kit, have custom piping made, and you will have a superior kit.

Yeah i really want a custom set up and my ultimate goal is a v mount setup but i dont have the time to do it and i dont trust any local shops around here. I can propbably get a hold of a pipe bender and somebody to work it for me but im just not sure how hard it would be and they will be just bending the pipe the way i tell them to. Is there any kinda a science to the bends, type of metal or the length of the pipes? like pressure drops or anything? Thats the whole reason id like a bolt on kit because somebody has already figured that up. If anybody has any custom setups with pictures id like to see. I've taken some at car shows and races but its hard to tell what is what.

You do not want Crush bent piping, that would be a mistake. For some one to do a very nice, tig welded mandrel bent piping is going to cost around 350-500$. You can chose what ever size piping but I recomend 2.5 hot pipe, with a 3- 3.5inch cold pipe. To have cheap crush bent piping will cost you 100$. But I recomend getting the the good stuff. If you dont have money for the good piping, then just get a greddy kit or equivilant.
