Sad situation.

All lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway in Azusa have reopened after a wrong-way crash that killed one driver early Saturday morning.

Authorities say a black Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on the 210 West when it collided head-on with a white Nissan near Irwindale Avenue just after 3:30 a.m.

A male driver in the Nissan was declared dead at the scene. A female passenger in the Nissan was rushed to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The wrong-way driver of the Honda fled the scene, but Azusa police located and arrested him about two hours later. A passenger from the Honda is also in custody.

Westbound lanes reopened at about 7:40 a.m.

Westbound lanes of 210 Freeway reopened after deadly collision

All lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway in Azusa have reopened after a wrong-way driver struck another vehicle, killing one person and fleeing the scene early Saturday, officials said.

The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene, said California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi. The suspected wrong-way driver was later apprehended by Azusa police.

Authorities first received reports of a wrong-way vehicle at 3:09 a.m., said Polizzi. Reports of the collision came in three minutes later.

this kind of shit especially pisses me off cause of how dumb the honda driver was.. holy fuck, what the passanger and family must be going threw

Holy shit, this almost happened to me about a month ago. There was a car running from the cops driving on the opposite side of the freeway just like this. I was on a part of the freeway that narrowed down to two lanes and the guys was coming straight at me. I literally played chicken and had 50/50 chance of choosing the right lane. Thankfully I decided the right lane and missed the guy by like 2 feet.

Cities that cut off public transportation at midnight have very minor role in all this. I lived in SD for a few years where the trams stopped at midnight and now I live just outside of SF where the same thing happens. Drinking doesn't stop because the trams stop.

Whether he was a member of Zilvia or not, the best way to honor the man is to have members of Zilvia show up at the memorial in their S13's and S14's to pay respect to a fellow 240sx driver who was taken before his time.

Yup. Had a white hatch that someone also hit and run. Got T-boned and the person left their car down the block and ran away on foot. lol. not for me though. Broke my heart. At least I lived, if I did not swerve left I would have T-boned him going 50-60 mph without a seat belt.
