I have my VH45 S13 up for sale here, I wanted $6,800 or to trade for a clean K1500 truck + cash. (MN winters...)

http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=573208

A guy is offering:

1990 extended cab K1500.

Its rust free (rare in MN).

Its got a new crate 350 and new auto tranny, no rebuilds, new. Has paperwork for it. The engine has a 7 year/100,000mi warranty.

It's a heavy half-ton with a fifth wheel hookup in the back (not gonna use it but its there)

I don't have pictures yet but he's going to send some tomorrow, I'll upload them when I receive them.

I asked if it had any mods, he said it's all stock.

I was thinking of asking for $1200 on top of the truck...is that fair? Am I asking too much, too little?

How is it that you can manage to swap a motor...

...but cant manage to negotiate a fair price on a trade.

Jeeez... you'de think people would be able to come to their own conclusions, no?

I was simply asking for other opinions.

yeah well, you're also being stupid

you cant judge the value of a car without fucking seeing it... visually. and visually, i mean inspecting the entire car from the brakes, tires, engine, oils, etc... thats why people pay shops for inspections, in order to achieve a fair value for the car. as a rough start, you use blue book and go from there.

as for your heap, well come to your own conclusions.. take all the time and money you decided to light on fire installing that hillbilly motor setup and go from there.

im not even trying to be a dick here, im just saying... you're asking too much from others when you should be doing the legwork here.

I was simply asking for other opinions.

Maybe if you asking for opinions about another S/Z chassis or another car that was in the same wheel house we could give you advice about a comparable trade. However you come to Zilvia asking about a POS K1500 truck! You may have better luck elsewhere.

What a dumb thread. Look on your local craigslist. Do bone stock 1900 k1500's sell for $7k? They sure as hell don't in Texas. More like half of that. Even with another $1500 on top of the truck, I wouldn't make that deal.

Use your brain, OP.

Pretty much.

OP just has to say "what would i pay for the truck, what would i accept for my car".

This is why I hate the idea of "trading", because at the end of the day you are not thinking of value vs. value, it's car vs. car.

Not hardly, most of the post are life lessons answers that should be learned in grade school!
Example: would you trade me your chocolate milk for my jello? Do You think, I need to ask other people at the lunch table. Or do you make the decision yourself? If you don't like jello the answer should be clear, but some people don't even know if they like jello. Maybe I should ask mommy if I'm allowed to trade first. I don't know maybe your mommy told you not to trade your chocolate milk, then again the answer should be clear. #Adulthood
In Britain you're probably 25yrs or older. In the US 30yrs via government slips of the tongue.
