alright so I swear I saw a thread like this not too long ago and I searched for days, but I can't find it.


So I finally got S14 subframe to my S13 using the SPL conversion bushing. 2 of the bushings are a little off. Is there any way of correcting it without taking the bushings out? It just needs to be turned slightly, but I cannot think of how I could turn the bushing while it's press in the subframe all the way. I had the subframe powder coated and I would like to avoid chipping the paint.

Someone chime in please.

I think you're SOL, man. Probably going to have to hammer the bushings back out so you can get them oriented correctly. I used a tape measure to measure straight across and made some marks on the subframe to line up with the lines scribed into the bushings. I still had to hammer out two or three of the bushings and hammer them back in to get it just perfect. My s14 subframe bolted right up with no issues though.

SPL told me on the phone that they only need to be like 90% lined up. It doesn't have to be 100% perfect. My question was can that offset the subframe somehow and negatively affect suspension geometry? They say no, as long as the subframe goes up nice and easy on the studs and you don't have to force it then there should be no issues.

Thanks. I didn't think it was going to be super easy. I used a huge bolt that fits through the bushing and some big washers and hammered it out. It only took like 3 hits.
