Anyone running a computer monitor as a TV, or Vice Versa? I was looking for both a new TV and a new comp monitor, and was thinking something like a 23"-30" WideScreen. I'm thinking i might save some dough in the end. anyways, wanted to know what kind of set ups you guys are running if any are similar...

no, wont work..no inputs on a computer monitor are similer to a house hookup. You can however run a comp. monitor in your car as a tv.

I've been shopping around for lcd monitors lately. There are a few lcd monitors out there that have built in tv tuners with the correct inputs. Google around a bit.

No I think it does work, one of my friends has an LCD screen that he uses for both his comp and tv, a gateway or dell I think.

I'm using an old Sony GVM-2020 as my PC/TV/RGB gaming monitor. I got it off eBay about 2-years ago while searching under "Home > All Categories > Cameras & Photo > Professional Video Equipment > Monitors".
It's the best display in the house even when compared to our RPHDTV.
Although it's max resolution is only 800x600.
I haven't kept up with the latest widescreen hybrids though.

my friend has one, he has the option of doing sort of a P-I-P thing, when you can watch TV on a little screen, while you can still see the computer functions (screen)

I got a 17" cornea lcd tv, the only thing i don't like is the small speakers...other than that it was a good buy. I wish i could afford a bigger one, i like the ones where you can watch tv on one side of the screen and be online on the other.
