Ok so i have a 1993 series 1 rb25 that i am trying to finish wiring.
Here are 2 pictures of the coilpack loom.
The first is my harness. I do not see where it connects to an ignitor chip?
The second is a google pic of another coilpack also from a s1 rb25. This one has a flat ignitor chip plug on it... why are they different?
Where does my harness allow for an ignitor chip to be placed?
Are all s1 looms not the same?

But this looks like a s2 rb25... however, the ecu and everything else says its a 93 s1....?!?

Is there any other tell signs or engine stamp codes?
Could previous owner modify do away with chip?

No ignitor means you have a series 2

Ok so i bought this from JDM world and they sold it to me as a series 1.... not sure if they knew.
However the lack of ignitor and the single blades on the compressor say series 2.
Yet when i first recieved the swap, it had 23710 21U01 ecu attached.
The first thing i did was research this ecu... and sure enough it says 93 series 1 ecu. So i rolled with it.
Howevere now that i realize i have s2 engine, why is this ecu on here??
As i took this apart to repin the connectors, it didnt look like this ecu had been swapped. I can usually tell when plugs have been removed or swapped... so to me this seeemed like the correct original ecu.

Has anyone seen this from there swap or know why this would be? Did someone swap jn a new scu in japan a long time ago?

After more research and sifting thru all the diff posts and fourms. Seems the TJ ecu is used on s2 rb25s and it works perfectly.
