Go buy any import mag. Look at the reader's ride's, most will be intake/exhaust/wires/rims and that would be it. It's sad that they get into magazine's with that $hit.

10-18-2001, 09:11 AM
hey atleast they are girls who like cars right?
give them a break... it is sweet to see girls who likes cars.... i think they are a group of friends... i have talked to them in the past and they r pretty nice...
maybe they r like me and r on a low budget
=)
#### guys don't hate, if u cant afford a car thats fast, or nice, u work with wat you have, dont make fun of someone for hooking up a car thats "less" than the average sports car, and if someone wants to add a system thats personal preference, this is not a strictly performance oriented website its for all ppl and anyone who loves cars mostly our 240sx'z. theres no need to be rude.
vancouvers14
10-18-2001, 11:42 AM
i agree with drifter. a girl who likes cars is a great thing. if my gf had a hooked up corolla, cool. its not what i'd do, but its better than stock. i'd rather have a girl with a car in a show than a girl just standin beside my car
you know what, you don't even need mods to be on the ggracing web page. check out quick chick 2, Rebecca Krieger. stock civic with whopping 100 hp @ wheels.
ca18guy
10-18-2001, 01:34 PM
Why do you guy's care? It's a CAR club. The only thing you really need to join a car club is a car. It is pretty much set up to get girl's more involved in cars, am I the only one that want's more girl's to enjoy the fun of car's??? If everyone on this site listed there car's and mod's probably half are near stock.
drifterx
10-18-2001, 01:43 PM
yeah i would let my gf join my car club if i had one even if she had stock... cuz friends dont let friends drive stock.... so obviously that car would not be stock for long

but we're not talkin about us, we're talkin about them...
a system does not = hooked up, nor does it = performance, and just cause they have rims and a car, DOES NOT make them special enough to be in a RACING CLUB, nor does it entitle them to better treatment, cause they are women, i am not in a club, my car is nowhere near special enough to be in one...
and do i put, stickers on my car?
NOPE
so the #### with them, if they want to be interested in cars, then a system (that was done by a proffesional place) does not count as being interested... being interested about the car itself is looking in books, tinkering with the motor, NOT PUTTING SHITTY ASS PINK STICKERS ON YOUR CAR... thats what a club should be about...

IceTek, I think you're being a little harsh. I mean... I know that systems etc was where I started, and it's where a lot of my friends started too. Granted, if they're trying to say they have the phattest ride in town, that's total BS, but if that's all they know how to do at the moment, then #### at least they have an interest, u know?

So by your way of thinking I should'nt order car part's from Summit Racing because I'm not a race car driver? Believe it or not to some girl's it's a big step forward for them to just change there own oil, or change a air filter. It's just a little club to get girl's invovlved in car's settle down......

I had a GirlieGirl Racing sticker on my car for about a week. Reason why: one guy pulled up to me and asked me if it was my boyfriend's car or something. So... I got the sticker. Kept it for a week. Visited the site, took it off. Most girls on that site (if you ask me) have no idea what the !#*$ performance is. I met a few girls who had modded cars: they still had no idea about anything that had to do with cars. I have quite a few stories, I don't even wanna start. All props to girls who KNOW things about cars, especially girls on that site. But... I don't think Grocery Carts that run on fuel make much for performance.
GirlieGrl: I don't really think that any of these guys have many problems against girls in REAL sport cars or that they're afraid to race them, I just think that they may be intimidated by them in a positive way. Just my personal opinion.
IceTekGuy: I DEFINITELY agree with you. And the rest of you guys...

P.S. I'm thinking that one day, when I think my car is fast enough, or not even then, I'll make an emblem that says: "Zilvia.net Girl" just because I love this site, and I think you guys are awesome. And because I'm a girl and because I'm so f'n happy I've got a 240!

10-19-2001, 06:47 PM
i just think if you're a racer, you're a racer (or replace racer with car enthusiest if you'd like). it's in your heart, not in your car. i think that you gotta start somewhere, even if it means only having an air filter and a system. but i must admit, some of these girls may be in it for the attention, not for the fun of fixing up a car, but i could be wrong :shrugs shoulders:
S13Grl

10-19-2001, 10:14 PM
I definately agree. U have to give people a chance to get into it more and more. I mean... if you made fun of every person with an intake and a system, half the import people out there would never really get into it.
IceTekGuy
10-20-2001, 01:20 AM
I know what you guys are saying, those small things, air filter, exhaust, is ok but NOT a SOUND SYSTEM,
thats all im saying, and although its a start, its NOT WORTH posting up to make yourself look special, i mean common, look at some of the ones that i posted, they are complete jokes...
and further more starting involves "GETTING INVOLVED"
not having someone do it for you, shit i mean take a look at the mechanic, help him get some tools, atleast then you can say that you helped put the stuff in, dont just pay em, and kick back in the lounge waitin for it to get done, and then drive off...
thats what im against, not girls trying to learn and then become racers, but chicks/guys, that sit and fart around , dont pay attention, and dont bother wanting to know how it works...
so to be considered a racer all you have to do is have the shit in your car?
no sorry, it dont work that way... most race car drivers out in the pro's USED* to be mechanics, or atleast know how their shit works...
get my point?
a poser will always be a poser...
and as far as girliegirl... your gonna smoke who's ass?
"THE CHICK AROUND THE CORNER WHOSE GONNA SMOKE YOUR A**!!"
lets meet halfway, your bring $10k and so will i, and we'll see if you and your squad is all its meant to be...

i don't think there's nething wrong w/ them mentioning their system, they put the money into it so why not? maybe u just don't like music as much as most ppl, i don't have 2 12's or nething like that (probably won't get nething that big if i do ever get subs), but i love listening to music n if i did have a sound system i'd definitely not care if everybody knew. i'd be bumpin' some sublime on there. i love listening to music loud, playing guitar loud, n i don't c nething wrong w/ having a sound system. i would want to do a lot of other mods first though.

Hey sup everyone, first time poster and let me just say:
Do I feel embarrased cause I dont know jack squat about cars and I'm really trying to get into it. Sure I can do things like change oil/filter replace struts and springs and things like that but I really don't know much more than those basic things, but here I am to learn. I got a 96 s14 and I'm really hoping on hooking this ride up.

10-20-2001, 01:55 AM
Yeah I agree with how some of those girls are just posting to get attention, but some of y'all gotta give them a break cause some are interested in fixing up their car so slamming on them are really not neccessary.

P.S. Whatever floats your boats guys, you're right: you gotta start somewhere, but you should probably start by buying manuals and reading magazines and reading up on things online, and then picking at things on your car after you've understood how they work.
AznZilviaLover: I think you're fine for the start. I also agree with what you've said about "gotta give them a break, they have to start somewhere". That's all fine, but how about starting with a real car and something that helps your engine, not a weld-on-muffler and a sound system to help play Britney Spears. Ugh!

what i found funny, were the quarter mile times some of those girls posted. one was like 15.3 with the basic bolt ons and nitrous, and then they put Tuned by: XXXX XXXXX is that so we know who NOT to go to? and the 95 sentra that runs 18's?? come on! i'm not ripping on all of those girls as a whole, some of those girls have badass rides and know more about cars than we do, most don't. another thing i didn't like about the site, is the first thing you see when you get on the website is a bunch of T-shirts and accessories for sale, which makes me think it's more of a trendy thing and a 'cool, different' thing, and the more important things of a car club, such as pictures and profiles, are at the bottom. a lot of the girls on the message board have attitudes, are there guys on that board too? it's funny to hear them say they've only done an air filter and they're already running 16.1. but like i said, if you're a racer, you're a racer, you can't fake it nomatter how fast or slow your car is (or what you look like). bah, ignore me, i just woke up from a bad dream that hanibal lector was after me

It should also depend on the weight of the car.

Yeah the car that ran the

ok, the theory of physics doesnt allow to have that, or it shouldnt...
i think that slip is a fake

That's a sorry response. I would like to hear your theory on why the law of physic's would'nt allow that. I suppose this timeslip is fake too, A 13.7 at 110mph is pretty close to 13.1 at 101mph.

This is all i find wrong w/ the whole subject. People who join a car club and 90% of their add-ons or accessories include a head unit, subs, amp, stickers, tinted windows and whatever inch chrome wheels. i don't understand. i've nothing wrong w/ people listing their exhaust, filters, intake and whatnot cause that actually helps improve performance and its not purely for show. One other thing i hate is when some one brags about having just NOS or just a turbo, and they depend on that to win. They have almost no other mods on their car except maybe an intake and exhaust. I'm sorry, but you cannot solely depend on one large mod to win every race for you and then brag about how awesome your ride is cause you've got NOS and some huge a stereo system. Screw those stupid *ssholes and trendy b!tches who do that kind of stupid crap.

i agree that u can't just rely on NOS or whatever else. if all of us had turbos though we could win a lot of the races on the import scene, not all of them, but if we modified them even further i'm sure we'd give other 4's a run for their money.

I looked at the "Readers' Rides" section of this month's "Sport Compact Car" issue and there was a girl with a GS Eclipse. ('95 or '96, not sure). Her mod list was a bunch of body parts, a nice, expensive paint job, tinted windows and then "Racing rims, Racing Exhaust, and K&N filter". WTF?!?!? I wouldn't spend all that money on making my car look pretty and have a filter and a muffler if you paid me!!!

here's what i have to say about this.....
When it is time to take up a hobby, it must be a good time to take a look at what you like. For me it was simple; I love cars and I love music so why not take up car stereo as a hobby. When I say car stereo, I mean the addition and modification of speakers, head units, and the addition of other parts. For many people, like my father, this hobby seems to be useless. “Why can’t you just be content with what comes with the car?” he would say to me, and I really had no reply at the time. Currently, I would go as far as to say that my car stereo hobby has grown to a passion. My goal now is to show people that stereo’s are more than what some kids have these days, with big speakers and obnoxious, annoying, earth shaking bass. My argument is that a person does not have to be into deep colossal bass in order to enjoy a superior car stereo.
The first and most obvious reason is if the stereo or the speakers are broken down. When someone has a stereo in the car that does not work, or does not work properly it is usually the beginning of a new respect for aftermarket car stereo (it is called aftermarket because it is an upgrade done to the car after it has been received from the car dealer and is a part not available from the dealer). They buy a piece of equipment that they will replace the broken part with, and eventually after realizing the difference that a higher quality stereo has made, they will progress to augment the entire system, adding new parts and removing old ones.
Also, sometimes when people drive on the highway and are enjoying their music, the noise of the road, the engine, and wind running on the car make it difficult to enjoy the music fully. This is usually a common reason for people to augment their stereo. With the sonic clarity and precise sound that an upgraded stereo allows a person to experience, it would be difficult to argue that an upgraded stereo would not make the driving experience more pleasant.
Some people like to enjoy the subtleties of music such as classical and instrumental music, well how would it feel if it were possible to feel every cymbal crash, the deep bass extension of the drums and the high output of the flute and piano. With an upgraded stereo a person can experience sounds that they have never heard before from a song they listen to regularly. If you are into classical music and are listening to the Blue Danube you would hear things with upgraded speakers that you would have never heard with the standard stereo in the car. This is a great reason to go ahead and upgrade the stereo.
Then there are people like me; I started out with the goal of having a super loud, ground pounding, bass machine on wheels. After about three years of changing my stereo system I have come to the realization that my car stereo system is great right now but, it can be, and will be better as the technology in this field grows. I also have learned that there is much more to a stereo that just intense bass. There are many things that are just as important as the clear bass, and it requires many parts to get there.
CAR STEREO IS A PASSION FOR ME. I DONT SEE WHY I CAN'T BE PROUD OF MY STEREO SYSTEM IF I PUT AS MUCH HARD WORK AND EFFORT INTO THAT AS U DID IN MAKING UR CAR FASTER.
i've got C18Guyz back all tha way...."fake timeslips" bull shit hes the one with the proof. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I agree with you. But what these girls are trying to do is "be cool and fast". Well, what we're trying to say is that if you wanna be fast and join a group called "GirlieGirl Racing" then you should probably have money invested in perfomance parts first, cause that's something to show off if you're in a racing squad.
whats a car club? any kind of club for that mattter.... its a social environment for ppls to feel a part of something so ppl out of instinct and social means want to feel like a part of something. so u cant blame ppl with just systems or just looks on their car for wanting to be a part of something and the name "girlie girl racing" can mean anything i mean yah "racing" is in it and some of those cars are fast... but the point is even those who just have stock cars want to be part of soemthing, why knock them for tryng?

#### YEA! geez.. people knocking on stereos.. whatever.. id rather have my sonically accurate tones rather than my .2 of a second in a quarter mile especially since i do not race. but its all about preference right.. so whatever.. i have mine...
a real car? since when is a civic/ or any of those cars not real? and with enough work any car in the world can be fast as heck

Hey guys, I think we're gonna get into an argument sometime soon, so let's stop. What I'm trying to say is that these girls wanna have fast cars. The matter of the fact is that a stereo won't make your car faster, but the money invested in a stereo could get them something like an actual Ram-Air intake or a pulley or something like that. I agree, a stereo is an awesome thing on a car. ####, I plan to get mine upgraded, but not until I can go to the track without shame and beat on guys who look at me like a piece of meat! I don't wanna talk about this anymore, I'm sure you guys know what I'm thinking: Most girls are in it for the attention.
