obx headers + aem intake = time for smog!

:rl: hmm most of my original parts are broken, so how do i pass smog?? i installed obx headers and AEM intake and after looking at my car, the local guy said he wont even smog it! what do i do? are my parts legal by any chance?

The OBX header is not smog legal. The AEM intake is. Make sure you have the CARB sticker plastered somewhere under the hood so the smog tech can see. Also make sure you have your AIV hooked up to the intake.

Take off the header, reconnect the AIV to the factory exhaust manifold, connect it to the AEM, and show the guy the CARB sticker. You should be cool with that.

If by chance you were one of the guys who thought it was cool to plug up the EGR, and ditch the AIV, then you better find a hook up, and wish two or more Benjamins farewell.

Or make a sheetmetal heat shield for the header that'll cover it up, and make some fake overspray using black oven paint on the shield. Make sure to give the shield a little coating of oil and then sprinkle dust and dirt on it to simulate use. Then take it to someone else who's nice and casual about it and have it smogged.
