Im in a dilemma i received my motor with a slight dent on the oil pan. The dent is not too bad but maybe a quarter of an inch on the drain plug side not on the oil pick up area. Is it wise i pound the pan out or am i good?

Pull it off and pound it. Pretty much every swap Ive ever bought except my half cut was like that.

if its an SR oil pan youre going to have a much easier time than a KA/CA (not sure if RB is 2 piece or not). but just like obeewon said, take off the pan, lay flat on ground, hit with a hammer a few times, put oil pan back on... easy as that.

make sure the oil pickup isnt dented in either. if it is, bend the lips back out so theyre nice and even.

Yeah agree with the above!take it off and check the pickup for any damage and then repair the oilpan and reseal.that way you have that peace of mind knowing your new swap won't blow up soon

Better put aftermarket pan while you are at it. Ebay one is cheap
