Yesterday I finally got my "White bunny" Competition Clutch from Enjuku (6-puck) installed into the car. So I have a new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and bearings. I'm getting grinds anywhere above 3000RPM in any gear, but if i'm lower, than 3000 RPMs, it's fine. Also its not the typical "try to put in gear with no clutch grind" it has a weird slightly higher pitch sound. Like as if metal is being shaved down kind of sound.

I'm having difficulty trying to figure out this problem. The slave cylinder seems fine. As i mentioned up top, new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and bearings. It sounds and feels like the clutch is not engaging completely at anything higher than 2900-3000RPMs.

My father thinks the clutch system needs to be adjusted since it's larger than the previous factory Exedy system (225mm original KA plate, the white bunny is 250mm 350z style plate, 6 Puck). I personally thinks maybe a synchro(s) are worn. Do you guys also think there can possibly be air in the system?

fresh fluid was put in the tranny also since it was close to dry. 2 quarts of MT90 and 1 quart of Synchromesh just to add.

Currently doing my White Bunny setup now too... you are aware that some portion of the dust shield must be ground down first?

If not the flywheel will self-clearance itself which likely isn't too big of a deal but definitely not great. I am surprised though that you wouldn't hear it at idle if that was the case. Interested to see what you find.

No I was not aware that some of the dust shield had to be grinded down. I asked the rep if there was any modifications necessary to make this work and I was told it's a direct fitment, no modifications. My bud who put the flywheel/plate/clutch together also didn't mention any problems getting it in.

This problem is absolutely weird man. At idle, I don't hear nothing abnormal besides of course everything moving and spinning.

Once I hit 2900-3000RPMs and above it grinds (like I mention, a metal shaving kind of sound) and hard to shift. Anything below, shift like a brand new system. After I get off work, I'm going back up to the shop and get under the car and see what's up. I'm going to have my bud probably make adjustments to it first. Start with the small problems first and if that doesn't work, maybe take it back apart and inspect dust shield this time while I'm there. This problem is weird and driving me crazy.

I somehow missed you have the Competition Clutch kit, yeah I would imagine they're correct then and it shouldn't need modification.

Hmm, very odd that it's so dependent on engine speed. I'm sure that's telling us something. Does the noise change as you continue to increase engine speed or just around 3000rpm? When you say grinding do you mean in between shifts or just constantly making the noise while in gear and idling? Did you adjust your clutch pedal?

The grind occurs when trying to shift into gear while driving. When I fully press the clutch to open it so I can shift into a gear, around 3000rpms and over it grinds. I'm more than sure it sounds and feels like the clutch is not disengaging completely as it only happens when it try to shift into gear while driving, it's fine at idle or any lower RPMs while driving (around 2400RPMs and under)

and no, the clutch wasn't adjusted. I'm sure he dropped it in and left it cause of how quick he got done with it. I'm going back to the shop and get under the car with him to make sure it gets adjusted today to see if that's the problem.
