Definitely a must have and one of the best suspension mods for the money at $60.00 I can't see why anyone would spend $150-$250.00 + for aluminum or Delran when this is a much better concept both in installation and ride aspects.

The idea behind a sub frame spacer is ingenious. Not only do they perform, they are easy to install and do not require dropping the whole sub frame. (Instructions included) They will also maintain a fairy nice ride. Cars with aluminum and Delran sub frame bushings can have a rather harsh and bone jarring ride. The spacers also increase the durability and effectiveness of the stock liquid filled sub frame bushings because they are compressed and will not allow the entire sub frame to smack up against the bushing during regular suspension travel. There is quite a bit of play in between these points in question without the sub frame spacers.

WHAT THE SPACERS DO:
They pre-load the stock rubber bushings so the body does not float separately from the sub frame. Stock, the body “floats” about an inch before the suspension even interacts with the driving conditions. This “floating” or vague, sloppy feeling is magnified with upgraded suspension modifications. Installing the spacers will prevent the body from “floating”. This gap between the body and sub frame is also the reason for wheel hop. Because the sub frame is mounted loosely, the sub frame is allowed to bounce up and down.

Pre-loading the stock bushings results in much more responsive handling and also greatly reduces wheel hop. By retaining the stock rubber mounts, it will also maintain a decent ride quality.

the "extra pieces" go on top of the bushings, where as this kit only goes on the bottom. If you search the forums. You'll find a lot of info on it.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner on this. The sub frame spacers are anodized aluminum. Our spacers compresses the subframe bushings from the bottom as there is no need to compress them from the top as the top bracket is already solid. Installation is easy as you will only need to unbolt the bottom brackets and insert the spacers inbetween the bracket and the OEM bushing. This is why there are only 4 spacers. The other 8 spacer kits on the market require you to drop the entire sub frame for installation of the top pieces. It is also a good design but is a lot more work to achieve the same purpose. There are some that will argue that having top and bottom spacers/collars are better as you can custom tune the suspension. But in my opinion, this is only an option if you have several different sizes of top and bottom spacers and if you are willing to install and drop the subframe several times and test each size and choose which one is optimum for your particular purpose or set up, i.e Drift/Drag/Road Racing etc. There are even some 8 piece sets that have spaces or cut outs in top collars and boast that you don't have to drop the sub frame as you can slide them in place. I strongly recommend not using this style as the cut outs on the collar itself is at risk of damaging the top of the OEM bushing. Our spacers were desiged for the best all around tuning to tighten up the gap between the body and the sub frame and to allow for an easy do it yourself install that does not require you to drop the entire sub frame. No, the subframe spacers do not risk cracking or stressing any parts. They simply compress the OEM bushings so there is less play between the body and sub frame. By retaining the OEM bushing, you will still have a bit of give and cushion so it is not like having a solid aluminum bushing replacement that is extremely harsh on ride and does not give as it is solid. installed these and still have horrible wheel hop. can it be other bushings(arms)? my engine mounts are very stiff but the tranny mount is still soft and oem. what i need is a camera in the underbody area so i can see what is so loose.. unfortunately for me, these spacers did not eliminate any hop. but there was a ton of play in the subframe itself.
