My question is
Is this quarter panel worth fixing and footing the bill to a body shop
Or is it more cost efficient to just sell my car and find one without the damage ?
Car is an original 1997
Keep in mind I bought the car like this
Rest of the car is straight... Body wise. Could use a respray though

Looks totalled to me. I'll give you $1400 for it.

Is the tail light section folded under or just rusting? You can access the dent from inside. Some body spades and some patience and you could get that out. If the sheet metal around the light is folded or pushed back, it'll be more expensive to fix.

Just rusting
But as you can see it'll need body work since the panel is also cracked.
Bondo/ body filler? Idk
Thank you for your feedback !

Most 240 owners can handle that type of damage. You seemed to not be that type. I wouldn't even consider a body shop for that shopping cart ding. But if you're anal or like anal I can kinda see the dilemma there.

I'd rather have a profesional do the work than pretend I know how to do body work on a car
Maybe the pictures don't show the extent of the damage?
I wouldn't consider this a shopping cart "ding"
Lol'd at the anal joke

Have you inspected what kind of rust is behind the tail light? I'd be more concerned with that.
Take it to a few shops and get quotes. Review said shops and get it fixed. If the rest of the car is is good shape, then it's not necessary to toss it.

As a dent that's a eeeaaasssyyyy fix. As a dent that looks as though it could have an unknown amount of old body work under it of unknown quaility it gets sketchy. However nothing to do but get a pick and get to digging, because any old body work will prob need fixing too. Still a sub $1000 fix all day long
