What case is that in?

that looks like a J30 VLSD diff, due to the sensor on the front.

I have a diff with a case like that but it's not a j30.

It is a 180SX diff from between Jan 91 and Oct 95 [1]. The carrier is Nissan PN 38310-40F10 the last five characters of which are visible on the top of the diff case. The sensor in the front is the "EAL" sensor and is present on all diffs used in cars with ABS. 5 bolt axles were used in the SR powered 180SX until Oct 95.

What is involved with putting these in an s14?

S14 Diff cover, 5 bolt axels OR 6 bolt vlsd output shaft assemblies, gear oil, elbow grease, jack hand tools, then you can hammer down.:smash:

swapped one of these ( 180sx diffs ) into my s14 a few weeks ago with a kaaz 2 way installed, all you need is the back cover, and if your anal the s13 subframe bolts that thread in toward the axles as they are shorter then s14, or buy grade correct washers and stack them to compensate for the size.
