Good edumacation will really help if you want to be be apart of creating cars designs.

If it was me I would get real good with CAD and also take some engineering classes for the automotive industry.

Its my dream to build my own car one day as im sure its everyones.

I took some industrial design classes at Savannah College of Art and Design www.scad.edu .. They have a good program there and they have also produced a working concept car that got a lot of attention, as well as a few non-working mockups... Anyway, that's a place to start looking.

A freind of mine from high school is studying in Michigan to be a car designer. It takes way too much homework.

dude....I know the score with car design. The only two colleges that I know of offering majors car design are Center for Creative Studies in Detroit and Artcenter College of design in Pasadena CA. Now.....cfcs in detroit obviously focuses mainly on american cars...so its not really the place to be if you want to design for nissan or bmw or something...On the other hand artcenter is *EXTREMELY* hard to get in to....5% of their incoming students are from high school and the average age is 23. Basically you might want to start with center for creative studies and transfer to artcenter. This is my dream. I am shipping off next year and applying to SCAD, CFCS, SVA, KCAI, MICA, Cooper Union, and Otis. If you dont know what the abreviations mean then you probably dont need to
