Hello my fellow zivians I need someone who has a s13 redtop that has succesfully converted there a/c to take the ka24de a/c compressors.I have done this but when I went to get the a/c recharged the people told me that it just leaked right back out and that the stock sr20 a/c lines dont match the ka24 compressor. So did you have custom lines made?if so where or did you find them and please send me link.do you know what make models will match up?Will the ka24 s13 lines fit into the sr20 stock ac connections? This is where im stumped and I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars to find out the hard way that the ones i bought dont fit.Thank you zilvia.

So i had to get the KAde compressor line that goes to the firewall modified. They cut the kaE lines that connect to the chassis, and mated it to the kaDE line that connects on the compressor.
Kind of a hybrid line, and then its a bolt in affair

Awesome thanks,I notice your from Arizona as em I and you say "they cut it"who are they do you have a way I can get ahold of the people who modded your lines?
So lemme get it straight I need to get line from a ka and cut it the parts off that connect to compressor and have it mated to the sr lines?what about the other line?Does that one actually work ok?Like I stated I wwas told by shop the connection line was leaking but i suspected it was both lines.
I'm a little confused I'm sorry do you have a pic of lines or could you draw it out?

since its just that part that connects to the compressor that doesnt match shouldnt I be able to go to a local a/c shop, bring in both the ka24 lines and sr20 lines,Then have them remove the part that bolts up to compressor from the ka24 lines and have those installed onto my exsisting sr20 lines?

I used a complete KADE AC system. No sr parts.
My chassis is a single cam. So I needed the low pressure line modified to have the dohc hookup at the compressor. And the sohc hookup at the firewall.
[email protected] Future fab did my lines.

the easiest way is, use the redtop compressor, use the redtop A/C compressor lines, and weld your existing KA24 to the redtop compressor A/C lines. You just cut off the ends and clean them up then tig weld around them. I've done it about 50 times this is the quickest easiest method. Someone with a tig welder (if you do not weld) should do it for $40 if you clean them up and cut them (and make them fit together without any gap) . clean with a wire brush (brand new) then acetone right before the weld. it takes about 80-100 amps.

I dont see you having a full set of sr lines, but if you do thhe sr lines do not work for ka comp and vise versa
Where is you sr comp to match up with the sr lines?
If you have a ka compressor....go get ka lines

Or get with Codyace and buy his bracket kit. You can bolt your KA compressor to the SR block so you dont have to fab lines since you're still using your full KA AC system.

Do this.
It's easy, and Cody makes great stuff.

I could always go back to sr a/c compressor but I want to go ka as the compressors are a dime a dosen and not 20+ years old as I can buy them new. Thanks for the help guys.

I have the Codyace bracket. And because my car is an sohc chassis I had to mod the a/c system because it came from a dual cam car. I guess the firewall fittings or something is different.
Honestly as King talon said it's a small cut and weld with a tig. Depending on you car if you already have all the a/c components theN Figure out what's missing. The sr lines don't match the ka compressor nor does the compressor fit the sr a/c bracket. That's why you need the codyace adapter
