so my headlights are a little funky. they are aligned right and everything, but they are spoty in some places. i cleaned the lenses and was contemplating on getting new bulbs. i was thinking about halogen or whatever those blue bulbs are called i cant think of it right now. but is it possible to use those bulbs on my stock headlights?? or do i have to get a conversion kit and how expensive are they to buy the bulbs?? i tried a search but came up with nothing in this forum, and i have to leave for work in like 10 minutes so i cant search around that much.

thanks,
paul

Well for starters, what do you drive? If it's an S13 chassis then you have sealed beam headlights. You have a couple different choices, New sealed beam lights, H4 conversion, or projector swap (See Halo and Old_S13's cars).
There are a couple other options, but these seem to be the most popular.

ok, so id have to do a conversion for both of those popular options? how hard is that and how much $$ are we talking about?? if its too much ill just go with oem

thanks tho

H4 conversion is fairly simple, just replaces sealed beam with a housing that looks exactly like a sealed beam only you can use any number of aftermarket H4 bulbs. You should be able to pick that up at your local parts store. Definitely any place that sells aftermarket ricer stuff, will also have these available. As for the Projector conversion, check out www.clearcorners.com look at their low-profile in-house conversion.

way too much $$$$...just oem for me, i have no money and im even starting to debate whether to my car is worth painting, itll cost me 250 to get the body restored, then another bunch for paint and primer, pluss the service charge for the guy painting it...maybe ill get somethin like those in the future, but not now...

if you like your car and value your lighting, buy some h4 replaceable bulb units.. hella and bosch are both good quality.

if you are broke and dont care about your car, go to pep boys and buy whatever they have on the shelf.

im broke, but i care about my car, but not enough to go buy expensive headlights so every one thinks i have my brights on when i dont. ill think about it tho, read up a little, thanks for the info guys

edit:
actually, i figured id look on ebay to get the general price for h4 cuz i dont really know any good web sites or companies that sell them for as cheap as i need them. found these right away, here they are...
