I know there's a cooling thread on here but I never really got any useful info off of it even when it was active.. Since I've gone sr with a front mount and all that stuff I notice that my car doesn't really run hot but its in the range where my fans are on ALL THE TIME, and if they're ever off the temp will quickly get out of hand even cruising down the freeway. I have a works 9 front bumper with a gaping hole in the front so I know there's enough air flow through there but I know tons of it is just going through the bottom of the car. I've seen some articles on stuff with proper ducting for both a lower and upper but I was wondering if anyone noticed a difference just running an upper cooling panel since you can't buy a lower off the shelf.

Upper is worthless for the most part. You need the lower as well as a shrouded fan if you don't.

Switch back to stock fan WITH shroud. See it your temps remain high.

I don't think this is true. I've see lower temps when on the highway and rainy days it will definitely keep the degrees lower then if you didn't have it. Lower panel and shroud fan will help also

I don't care what you "think"
The lower panel that the manufacturer put there for a reason and a shrouded fan makes the most difference. If you have these the top panel wont do much. But by all means test all this for yourself.then report back with what you now "know"

Factory shrouded fan is hard to beat. If your going electric it needs to be quality high out put fans with a proper shroud set up. Just attaching fans to the radiator doesn't really work well. Especially if you still have a/c and a FMIC.
My car would run hot in the Florida summer with a/c on and I tested all kinds if things to get it to run cool.
A good shrouded fan and the lower panel brought temps down to normal with a/c running and a 3.5in thick FMIC. Top panel made no noticeable difference with the other 2 in place and if I removed the lower in favor of the upper for testing purposes car would get too hot.
This is testing I actually did. Others feel free to do with the info what you will.

get a clutch fan, shroud, better radiator cap, NISMO thermostat and Koyo 55mm radiator... say good bye to any and all cooling problems!
THREAD LOCKED!
