So about 7 months ago, I pulled my engine to change a bunch of seals, clean up and paint engine bay, and other random things.
After 7 months, I was ready to put the engine back in. I wasn't worried about the engine starting because I was familiar that the engine ran fine.
It didnt start initially, and I thought it was due to bad or old fuel. I tried to get a little out but not all of it. Ended in putting 5 gallons of fresh fuel and it fired up pretty well. I noticed a bad oil leak so I couldn't keep running it, so I shut it off. Changed the bad turbo oil line, started the car back up.
Ran great and idled just like I remembered it months ago. Drove it around town for like 25 miles and it was running great. I didn't have my BOV recirculated so it backfired a bit like it used to but still running good. (I recirculated it in the past and it stopped and ran much better).
Halfway into the day, it started to hesitant when I give it gas and sputter alot if i was under 2000 RPMs. In addition, it will shut off sometimes when I let the RPMs drop coming to a stop or holding in clutch. I Recirculated my BOV again and it still does it, and seems to be getting a bit worse. It actually doesnt have a problem idling after I start it up or let it fix itself after it almost stalls. When I downshift, it backfires quite a bit more than usual, even with BOV recirced.
I didn't really change much on the engine to make it do that, and regardless, everything felt normal when i drove it the first part of the day. Could it be bad or old fuel still left in the system? Or would that not make any sense since it was driving fine when i first fired it up? Checked all vacuum and boost (not with a tester, but just overviewing) and nothing seemed loose or anything. It happened completely randomly and I've only driving the car about 20 miles today since it started happening.
Any suggestions wpuld be greatly appreciated. I know topics like this have been covered but every situation is unique and its always nice to get information according to your situation!
Thanks in advance!
