I was wondering if theres a data cable i can buy and plug it into a computer to read the codes, rather then having to play with the ecu itself? What does nissan do when they use the "computer"?
thanks

well you could go the way I did and buy a 6.5 thousand dollar scanner only to have it not make much money..... but I would say thats a bad idea...
I have a snap on mtx2500 scanner that'll do a 240 with a stock ecu... trying to figure out if I can do SR's.. I think I f I put it in as a 200sx ser it'll work... anyway I'm in NY sorry I can't be much more help.

just read them off the ecu, its only takes a little bit longer than hooking up the snap on scanner and setting it up with the vin and everything. actually it probably takes less time.

Check out zcontrol.net. They have a DIY Consult board that measures and reads all sensors in real time. Cost is about $35 is you build it yourself or else its $50 already built. You can also datalog runs read the fuel mapsm and trace it. Oh yeah it also reads and clears trouble codes. Very cool.
