Ok so my R33 Skyline got hit while it was parked at my work and caused 10000 dollars worth of damage. the best part is i run a body shop here in Austin Texas and the car that hit my r33 was my bosses El Comino (don't know if thats spelled right) that was just painted any way here goes it destroyed the right side of my car barley missing my right door. lucky for me insurance covered all of it and best of all they allowed me to write the estimate (biggest mistake they ever made lol) so I write the estimate for just shy of 10 grand. so i get the check and start ordering parts new wheels, coilovers hicas elminator kit, new fender cusco tension rods whole new paint job on the entire car and a couple of small body mods since i had it apart. Anyway here are the pics

So basically what you committed was insurance fraud. Congratulations on being an idiot.

Do you know how insurance company work in the body shop business because if you did you would Know its not fraud. the insurance company has to pay you at your shops rate which are's is $48 an hour they can't write it lower even though I'm going to get a discount as well i wont have to pay a mark up on the parts because i wrote a COMPLETE ESTIMATE which most insurance company's will write a half ass estimate because they think you might just not fix your car and keep it but since i don't have to pay mark up on the parts or pay the full price on the labor i made quite a bit of money off of this deal. So before you start claiming insurance fraud why don't you get your facts straight nothing illegal was done.

Dude, was your boss wasted when this happened?? How in the world..

Also, following what others have said, I'd probably edit out that part about the insurance just to CYA you know?

no from what i was told because i was not at the shop when it happened someone was moving his car into the back and the throttle stuck wide open ( I don't believe that happened since i drove the car all the time but thats what the guy claims) anyway ya ran right into my car barely missing the motorcycle right next to my car.
and like i said nothing illegal was done with the insurance. When you write an estimate for an insurance company they will send someone out to verify my estimate most of the parts were quoted by the dealer so everything was legit as well as the labor amounts.

....seems like it would be a conflict of interest here. I would bet by some law YOU are not allowed to do the estimate on your own car but an employee or approved body shop could. I also bet someone dropped the ball here and I am also willing to guess the insurance company would not be pleased to know that you purchased a few parts that were not on the damaged list!!
Its like a medical doctor writing a prescription for an expensive name brand drug for them self and the insurance company needs approval through the doctor that wrote it lol...not ethical but it happens
And just because you didnt get flagged by the insurance company doesnt make it legal....I can assure you in all accounts its fraud that you fixed your own car and wrote the estimate...this sorta pisses me off

Its not the same thing at all as a doctor writing a prescription completely different. after i take that check i could have kept all the money and put it toward something else that's why an insurance company would low ball an estimate on say a car you were in an accident with because you have the ability to take the money and not fix your car it happens all the time especially when you get hail damage. I just have the ability to write and tear down a car so when its written its 100% done it just happens that the adjusters don't have the understanding to write a car that was not imported to the united states its not in there estimating systems so i helped them write it and it was all written with oem or aftermarket parts with receipts the quotes from the dealers but the thing is if i had a supplement for additional damage that's when i would be out of luck and they would not pay anymore because its not being repaired per the estimate that was written they new i was going to take the money and have it fixed myself but the law that the insurance company have to go by states that they have to pay for the repairs at a reasonable labor rate while making 20% on marked up parts and that is what we wrote the estimate for and so did the adjuster that looked at my estimate and his supervisor approved being the car was a 93 and they had to research the value so it was not a total. believe me iv been doing this job for awhile now and i would never jeopardize my job let alone this shop for my personal gain.

This isn't really a build thread.

Not sure why everyone is getting on his ass about the insurance shit.

It looks like your bosses car was hit by something while it was parked next to your car.

Nah it hit the sign post and wrecked that side of the bed.

Less arguing, more actual building, and learn to properly post pics before I delete this otherwise horrible non-build thread like I started to in the first place.
