I'm making my own exhaust for my VH45 swap. I've made my own headers as well. I want to be able to unbolt the headers from the rest of the exhaust so the whole system doesn't have to come out if I need to take the engine out.
I bought two sets of 3" flanges (4 flanges total). I was planning on welding one onto each header collector, the other 2 flanges onto the pipes and bolting them together. I'm kind of confused on how to do this.
Do I just sandwich the gaskets together in between the two ridges of the pipes, or do they go between the ridge of the pipe and the flange on each side and hope everything squeezes tight?
