Hello everyone, I'm new to 240's so bear with me; this is my first post. I'm running a ka24det mated to a 300zx transmission. Occasionally I have a hard time starting my car. The starter grinds on the inside of the flywheel, not mating with it properly. It grinds and creates a really loud, embarrassing noise. This happens about half the time. Other times it will crank fine and start. I attempted to put shims on the starter and angle it but I just can't get it right. Have any of you ran into the same problem as me before and can provide some insight? Maybe I need to run a different starter or something? Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Rb25 bell will allow for stock ka starter use....or you can clearance your adapter plate and bellhousing and use a stock starter that way too

Thanks for the replies guys. So the only possible solution would be to swap over the bell housing and get a stock ka starter? Would any other modifications be needed to do that? Just the mounting location for the starter looks to be different from that pic. The starter on mine is mounted to the trans and looks like it has been grinded down around the edges to be inched closer to the flywheel.
