What's your preferred method? Seems like for every article or thread I pull up, there's a contradicting one for it. I've heard half diesel and half oil, I've heard that the plain Gunk motor medic flush will work, I've heard to use ATF. Which one is your tried and true method? Looks like someone ran mud thru my shit (it's that dirty).

Running an engine with diesel fuel and oil mixed together sounds like a great idea. Throw a little play sand in with it as well to polish up the cam lobes.

I did this and picked up 15whp. I used a mix of the blue and purple sand.

There are dedicated products for this which have been proven to work. Just go with one of those. You've mentioned one already. Seriously, not something worth posting about.

If it looks like mud have you considered a blown hg? Or something of that nature? Oil doesn't just turn into mud for no reason

I personally add about .25 quarts of MMO a week before I change the oil every other change. When I bought the engine the head was beyond gunked up and now you can damn near eat off of it

While this is growing to be the biggest cleaning method around, I prefer to grab a hand full of dirt from my yard. It's easier to just wash it clean and measure out around 1 1/2 - 2 cups.

OR

Just use seafoam and be done with it.

I use pure unadulterated gasoline. It's always worked for me. Do a couple pulls and then drain it into the fuel tank. Efficient!

Seafoam. Just follow the directions on the can you buy at an auto parts store.
