So car was stolen back in early march late february. Got it back with some wiring pulled out(literally), no distributor cap/rotor. some other things non spark related missing also. So at first was visually checking for things and fixing as i found, 2 grounds on head were pulled off, iacv pigtail had wires pulled out. fixed all that still no spark. Got technical and started checking everything per fsm.
So far this is where i'm at.
•Battery passes load test(multiple) and has been recharged as i crank it.
•Crank angle sensor checks out.
•coil and chip resistances check out(have 2 both good from fsm resistances)
•Checked fuses multiple times to make sure i didnt blow anything during diagnosing
•Swapped like relays with other like relays, no results. checking resistances to see if relays are actually good tomorrow.
•Continuity from ecm harness pin 1 and 3 back to coil/ignitor.
So the thing that still blows my mind. On easter I was just looking around at the wiring. touched the two grounds to the back of the motor and i got spark to valve cover. called it a day and said sure wire those up and ill have spark. came back and wired em up a week later and no spark again? this part alone is frustrating me. I saw spark for a good ten cranks or so but had to go. When I actually have time no results?!?
Anything and everything you can think of to test/check would be appreciated.
