With a title like that you know this must be good, well folks it's true and well strange, but I have acquired a 94 hardbody pickup with a rusted frame and a ka24 with a spun bearing for the sweet tune of 200 bucks, I'm a welder fabricator by trade so the frame didn't have me worried but as far as the mechanical. I left it in the hands of my son who is a gm and ase certified mechanic. After a complete frame tear down and repair, we are now at the mechanical over haul, my son talked me in to ka24de (soon to add a T to that ) swap and well to save the heart ache we are going to run a full s13 5speed-trans, ka24de, the harness, dash, cluster, interior... Well you get the point and well if your still reading this here's where my questions stems from

We picked up the motor and trans on there own for 150 bucks and My son pulled an entire s13 harness ecu cluster steering column everything we wanted for 200 bucks sweet right well here's the down side, The harness car was an auto, now we have read our fair share of swap how too's. Well it's like everyone focuses on the mechanical and nothing on the electrical what I'm asking is can we get a cut dry answer on what has to be done on the wiring side, to make it right and have no cel

And because this is the internet and nothing is true with out photos here y'all go to keep up our street cred lol (our build tread photos from another site)

Pretty sure when I did my S13, I just had to disable the brake interlock and wire reverse lights.

Brake interlock is a 2 wire connector behind the P side S13 fusebox with black and tan wires (If I remember correctly). Splice those together and the car will start.
Reverse light connector will be close to the brake interlock on the harness, can't remember which one it is, but those two wires connect to the M/T reverse light switch on the trans.

Nothing else needed as far as I know, the motor/ecu doesn't give a damn what's behind it.
You do lose the top speed limiter as well, if you use an auto ECU.

As far as the rest of the harness, are you trying to figure out what you can ditch and what you can keep to prevent a CEL?

I for sure want to remove any cel light, and I would love to strip the harness as much as I can.
