Just got these put on our M3; please don't ask why, I told my dad to get the Ecsta MX. He got bent over for the price. Front: 225/50, rear: 245/35. Still understeers like a mofo, but I was expecting as much from such a stagger. Plus, the weight of the M3 overpowers the fronts... I knew we should've upgraded to 235s all around. Anyway, I can just feel the tread squirm. They aren't anywhere near as grippy as the Azenis Sports I have on my '90 325i, and I can take corners faster in the 325i with four blown shocks than in the '96 M3. It makes me sad. The tires aren't all that loud, and I don't know how they'll wear yet. But I'm already disappointed. I would not recommend them... I call them riceboy tires.

w3rd.... for the price, they arent bad. but they are hardly good beyond a couple months of good use. im glad someone has finally said this about these tires. and on an M3?? bleh...u were right, the MXs would have been much nicer, but eh...gotta live with it.

the 712's sidewalls aren't very stiff as well. I have to anticipate to turn ahead of time before the tires react.
I've been advocating for a year now that Kumho Ecsta 712 are garbage... :) Another review to note in my log!

if you stretch them for the rear they're not all that bad for slide (for noobs like myself). i run them 205/50/16 on a 16x9 and they're good, they don't debate with the stock underpowered ka whether or not to break loose and stay loose or not. i like that due to my learning curve.
That's exactly why I don't like them: they offer no grip!

Yeah, I have them and they suck my balls. They will be dead soon though..... then possibly some ES100's.

es100s in the front are pretty kickass :) i run those all the time. but they feather on the outside REALLY bad if you have more than -1, -.5 or 0 camber.

used to have 712's they were ok to do spirited driving on but thats about it. stiffnes/response/wear sucked.
after one event with es100 on front they were feathering pretty bad. the grip, response and feel is ok overall. sidewalls wouldn't hurt be stiffer. I think they are an great street tire for someone who doesn't want to sacrifice too much comfort. At the moment im using azenis up front and the es100 in back, love the azenis response and grip. but, the es100s roll too much in the back. in short: 712's2suckballs, es100forbigpimpingandsomegrip, and azenis4mobbinghardeverywhereallthetime!

I have 711's and I'm sure they suck more than the 712's. And yes the sidewalls are VERY stiff and they only grip OK when they are really really warmed up. I would also never recommend them.

my next set are some FM901's. seem to be a nice tire for the price.

Bought 712's once cuz they were cheap and I needed tires. They didn't agree with my heavy footed driving and lost their tread entirely too fast. They might be all right for a "normal" driver, but for me they just plain S U C K E D! I run Nitto NT450's right now on my stock Steelies, they seem to hold up pretty well, plus my engine is dying so my heavy foot has taken a break. Not sure what I'll run once the SR is in, but it definitely won't be 712's.

now since all this shit got poured on 712s, think how much the 711 suck. thats a bummer :Ownedd:
i'm running 712 in the front with nankang in the back. i cant tell which is better...or should i say worse. it feels like the sidewall is made of jello. BUT...driving on shitty tires = more driving skills so they are good enough for now. I used to run Azenis, then went to Es100, now 712's. I still go the same speed as i used to go on my Azenis cause i can drive better now. yay for me :)

I've had about 15-20 sets of different tires on my 240....and the 712's rank dead last.
Yes, I'd take any dry rotted tire any day over them. I've never heard a tire squeal so bad.....
even for drift, when you off throttle and want your car to catch.....they still freaking spin....

I just put a set of 712 kumho ectsa supra 205 55 16 tires on my gf's daily driving Altima they were a big improvement in handling and a good ride, over her all season touring tires that were on the car. I know they arent drifting tires but they are a good replacement for a daily driver are worth the money, we picked them up for 200 for a brand new set.
