S14 antenna!! How to install aftermarket screw on??

I have a s14 and I hate the power antenna how it comes up everytime I turn on my radio. I recently bought a small antenna about the size of my pinky finger and I love it although I don't know how to install it?? This antenna is a screw on and came with the adapters I need for it but my antenna that is on here doesn't unscrew or atleast I don't think it does. Does anyone know how to install a screw on antenna? Thanks for your help

I wrote a long ass post and it didn't go through. Sorry.

Use a towel around the area where the antenna is.

Then use pliers in the little grooves on the silver ring around the antenna to screw it counterclockwise out of the antenna mast.
