Standard manual tranny from a KA, used to do it on the KA and now keeps doing it on the RB. (Same tranny, used in a KA and an RB)

The car moves ok and shifts ok etc everything is normal.

But when using the clutch pedal halfway, like to start moving or reversing and controlling the clutch engaging by pressing it halfway and move it in and out, sometimes when holding it the tranny kind of clicks? and starts doing a horrible loud grinding noise and i have to fully clutch or take the gear off.

Happens a lot when parking and playing with the pedal, reversing and playing with the pedal, never happens when fully engaged or disengaged, i have no idea what this could be (damaged gears inside? but they work perfectly while boosting and cruising) but it feels like its engaging and then jumps teeth and does the grinding, when it grinds the car doesnt jump forward, so its not fully engaging.

This is different to normal cases where it grinds when going into gear etc, mine just does it when i use the pedal halfway engaged.

Solved, First gear inside the tranny is chewed on the corners.

Edit: Nope, turns out that shinny corner is normal in that gear, its the small reverse one.

Now we have moved to the Pilot Bushing inside the crank, KA had destroyed its bushing and the RB has the Auto bushing on it.
