When I get rolling in first gear, shift into most gears (and i'm kinda gettin on it) there's a clunk noise from the rear passenger side by the wheel. If i kinda granny shift and ease off the clutch, it doesn't make the noise. I'm gonna try to make a video to better illustrate the issue.
(Not an end link problem, b/c previous owner took off the rear sway bar)
jacked up the car, and simulated a normal drive, nothing. Simulated getting on it slightly, nothing. That made me believe that my U-Joints are not the cause.

took a look and can't tell if diff bushings are bad but think those may be it? I also tried finding articles with similar issues, but couldn't quite find one.
any help is appreciated.
thanks,
Paul

I think i have a similar problem as you. After a long drive and my car is hot, when i pull away from a toll both the rear end clunks and shutters. I put in z32 uprights with greased fittings and z32 koni's, upgraded to a cusco diff and the problem persists. Has all new rod ends for the rear control arms and the ball joints were still tight when i checked them. Wheel bearings seemed to be ok but im unsure about the axles.

Take a pry bar, and nudge it between the front of the subframe and your chassis right above your LCA, and move it up and down and see if your subframe moves.

Could be your subframe bushings. Are you still on stock shocks?

99% sure its your subframe bushings. i had this happen to one of my s14s before, if not it could be your diff bushings.

Im on stock shocks, with lowering springs. I did the "bounce" test and the shocks seem fine, ill look at the subframe busHing. I've seen

Could be a combo of BLOWN stock shocks since they have lowering springs on them and the subframe bushings.
