Auto-> manual: Does it little "ecu" stay or go?

Well, I'm mid RB20 install, and I was putting my clutch pedal in for the new transmission, and I had to pull this little box of wires and stuff out of the way to do it, now, with the pedal there, it doesn't bolt up anymore and doesn't seem to have a space...is this something for the auto trans only?

Auto tranny ECU...ditch it.

I unplugged mine, and tucked the wires away high in the dash, rather than cutting and running the risk of one shorting out.

exactly, it's nothing more than dead weight after the auto's gone.
