Hey guys been searching around everywhere for some answers but no clear answers led me to make my own thread. Just added a VIS dual vent hood to my s13, at the moment it is making contact with the top of the valve cover. I literally need to come down about a full inch.

Any of you guys out there have similar issues with hoods? Assuming you guys had to run lower engine mounts. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Had the same issue with a vented hood and nismo motor mounts. Swapped to Kazama mounts and the problem went away.

Just trim the vents so they sit nicely around the valve cover. Looks a lot cooler than lowering the engine.

Had the same problem. Even switching from Nismo motor mounts to JGS (great switch by the way), my vented hood still rubbed the top feed fuel rail and the TB on my Greddy intake manifold. I had to switch back to the stock heavy hood.

I would love to have a fiberglass hood, if I could find one that will clear my engine.

i had this issue with my seibon cf hood (oem s13 silvia style) i had to take a dremel and trim parts so it wouldn't hit my throttlebody.

damn seems everyone had a different solution. i would be down to run kazama motor mounts, but now i wonder how much raddling will be added to my car.

anymore input from others would be appreciated!

Mine is hitting right on the vent and those can't be more than 1/8th of an inch thick. Looks like I'll just need to lower the engine

Mine was so far from clearing that I would have had the inkate, fuel rail and part of my turbo poking througy my hood. I am not shy with the dremel, vut my vented hood wasn't even in the ballpark with the jgs mounts.

Just buy the mounts from drift freaq. He is pinned in the for sale section. His mounts lower the engine like a half inch from factory which is perfect. I run them and they are great.

Trim the "knockoff" hood of yours.

Most people won't notice or just spray paint the newly exposed area.
