Hey guys, just posting up a build thread for a street/road course car we are currently building for a customer.

Before anything happened, we had to do the customary shop burnout before the original KA heart left it's body for good:

First, got the VH45 and started ripping into the intake & pulled the valve covers

solid trans mounts are ok if the engine mounts are rubber but its a really bad idea to have solid motor and solid trans mounts.
need to have some give and twist for when the body contorts under load, else things start to happen like split/cracked trans casings or block damage.

From what I've heard and read, you should never do a solid trans mount with engine rubber mounts, because then the motor is twisting while the tranny has no give. As for the solid mounts all around, that seems to be a highly debatable topic, some swear it works, some swear it doesn't. Many race cars run full solid mounts, however I do realize those cars are heavily braced. This car will be getting a cage & underbody bracing, but I will keep your advice in mind. THANKS!

Oh ya, have no doubt, there's definitely no issues with that, the issue is with the opposite (rubber engine mounts & solid trans mount). Anyway, a little update :)

Decided to replace all the front end bolts as everything is apart, and the old ones were in bad shape. While removing the subframe, one of the bolts actually tore out of the flatbar bracket it's locked into, so I decided to make my own beefed up set, with a much thicker flat bar and some new grade 10.9 bolts.

Some more updates! Motor is in! We have installed the Mazworx headers after some fun clearancing work (but no pics of that yet), she's moving along nicely now! Transmission & Driveshaft should be going on soon :)

Also, back tracking a little, we did most of the top-end assembly out of the vehicle. All new hoses & clamps, still need to run the vacuum lines. All coolant passages were blasted and refinished.

Modded the OEM Waterpump tensioner. Since the P/S & A/C are deleted (forget which one is on the same belt), the stock tensioner would be useless.

Hey guys....Been a good while since our last update. We've since moved to a new shop. The car was put on pause for a bit. But the ball is rolling again. She turns over, just finishing up some wiring before she starts.

Decided to reroute the fuel lines through the passenger side wheel well

After which it goes through the frame rail to re-connect to the OEM lines.
