I have 245's on the front end of my s13, I don't really want to run much camber. I'm mid silvia convertion and the fender doesn't seem sturdy enough for me to really start man handling. It seems like a lot of people are getting tires about this wide to not stick out and their fenders don't seem mutilated. Am I doing something wrong? I'm half way considering cutting the fenders and running flares in the future, just looking for something easier for now.

Their wheels are a different offset than yours. Also, "about this wide" can be a huge difference when you're slammed.

I was checking every s13's tire size at import alliance today haha. Looks like most are running 215s. I saw one other person with 245s.

Yeah that's about average on the west coast too unless they're tubbed or modified fender. I have a 235/40/17 but it's mildly stretched, I have some camber, and my fender is pulled. If I had a different offset, I wouldn't have to do any of that. Search for the offset 101 thread and do some reading. Find a 8.5 or 9" wheel that'll sit where you need it and the tire will fit. Just be careful if you go bigger, I few guys ended up rubbing 255s on the struts

8" wide +30 offset wheel.

that fits a 245 tire... anything less and you will be rubbing the strut, or going outside of the fender.

thats why all those idiots you were seeing are running 215's.. they have terrible fitting wheels that poke out hardcore past the fender. (9" wide +15 offset - example) the only way they can run these horrible fitting wheels is to run a tiny stretched tire.

I run 17x9 +20 effective offset wheels with 255/40-17 R-comps. Fits fine on stock fenders with a little room to spare (but I run -3.4 deg camber). They still fit fine at like -1.2 to -1.5 deg which is perfectly fine to daily on.
