im about to buy an RB20DET r32 skyline front clip from a guy on the west coast. (im in florida) he claims he makes no money off shipping, and gets a discount. he quoted me about 600 dollars to ship it. am i getting raped, or is that about right for cross country shipping?

i'd say so. Thats insane..
did u buy it for cheap? I'm sure hes trying to get back some of the money he lost in the sale with shipping. But i got a quote from Venus-Auto for my front clip and they said 600 bucks.. i only friggin live 25 minutes away. Shipping is ass. h8 it.

I would research shipping costs and contact his shipping company for quotes to verify what he is saying...

check your shipping quotes by asking who they use and then contact the company if they wont tell you who they ship through you are getting screwed

i actually arranged for pickup through my companies freight people and just told the guys when to have it ready the last time i ordered motors (two T2 13bs for my friends RX-7s)

That sound's about right on the shipping. You have to add in fuel, insurance, and if your area is a beyond meaning not in/or near a major city if its not near a major city it cost's more. Just shipping a motor is about $300.00.

the guy says he uses either Pilot Freight, or Saia motor Freight. on a sidenote, any ever dealt with these guys before? they have a 100 percent rating on ebay.

It's possible that the price he is quoting you is accurate. Given fuel surcharges, packing, etc etc etc it is possible the bill comes out to $600. But as others pointed out, shop around and try different freight companies to see who'll do it for a better price.

I've used Yellow Freight (they're nationwide & have a website; google 'em) and they dont charge too much.

Good luck

Just tell them to send you the RB clip piece by piece through USPS Priority mail. I bet you could save a lot of time and $$ too!
