i just have my clutch replace on my sr20det, i replaced everything there is. pliot bearing, throwing bearing, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel. im not sure if i install the pliot bearing right, i took out the pliot bearing. and replace a new one on there, i put it where the end of hole for the pliot bearing, am i suppost to put it all the way in. after that, i was trying to put in the transmisson. i realize that i have about a 1inch gap to connect the motor. i was wondering is there something wrong with my clutch, i have the tool to aline the clutch everything was prefect, but i try the installing the trannsmisson the whole day. it wouldnt work. what should i do please help!!!

sounds like the pilot bearing isntlined up...OR the throw out bearing isnt pushed back all the way on the inputshaft, i just finished putting my SR tranny back on 2 days ago, and it was a job, 2 people should be doing it to make it easier

you could try just putting teh pilot bearin on teh end of teh shaft when installing tranny....might make it line up easier.....all is does it keep teh inputshaft from wigglin too much, so try a few different things

I had this problem on multiple motors. All I did was loosen up the pressure plate, reinsert the alignment tool where it goes in and out like butter, then retorque the pressure plate. If it is off by any given amount, it will give you extra trouble.
