I have a 93 240sx hatch and the previous owner put a N1 style exhaust. Right now I have a exhaust leak in the resonator. Looks like someone took a knife and made a hole straight in the middle. Could this cause bad MPG or something else? Its been there for quite a few now. I'm also wanting to replace my 02 sensor after getting that hole fixed. My knock sensor went out as well. Replacing that this week. I looked around and couldn't find the causes of a exhaust leak in the resonator. Anyone know? Thank you!

Pretty sure the only problem you'll have if the leak is after the cat is unwanted/wanted increase in exhaust sound. As for the cause of the leak... Bad welds, low car big speed bumps, previous owner wanted to try to make the car sound like a 1jz.

Sounds just like a 1JZ haha. I'm gonna get it welded up again so that it doesn't smell so strong. Just wondering if that made it bad. I guess its just the knock sensor which I'm replacing this week. Thanks
