Okay, new member here first post.
Great site.
My sr20det 180sx runs like
[email protected] Runs rich as (black plugs). Bad fuel economy (20L per 100klms)
It won't rev past 3500ish rpms unless I rev it quickly and it backfires through intake
But if I unplug the tps it runs fine, revs, no backfiring. I've searched the problem and people say they've replaced the tps and the problem has still been evident. I don't have the money to get items that don't fix the problem
I can't check timing cause idle is 1100rpm and iacv screw is stripped. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! I can't check codes cause I have no leds on my ecu and no check engine light to see flashes. The cars a 92 model

if it won't rev past 3k, its almost always a bad maf.

Sounds like maf issues to me too. Start by going over the wiring and giving the maf a good cleaning with appropriate spray cleaner

I've cleaned maf with maf cleaner spray already
I set timing using the rev method cause my idle is too high
I've cleaned throttle body and iacv
I'll let you know if it happens again, thanks for the help everyone

68543 **UPDATE** the O2 sensor wiring has a break in the power side of it and it would have since I got the car. Repairing that tomorrow

Really sounds like your maf man. Unplug it and see if there a change in idle. You can check the tps with a multimeter. If its bad I believe I have one or two on spare throttle bodys pay shipping and its yours.

Sorry dude those are spam bots.
What I thinking is you may have a leak somewhere if the maf checks out. Do a boost pressure leak test because turbo.
