So I bought a set of godspeed rs coilovers and recently when I go over 40mph it starts to shake real bad. I sent the driver side front back to godspeed and they said it was the hat that was messed up. They sent me a new one bu its doing the same thing. Not to sure what is going on but if anyone has any ideas I would be much appreciative.

Its a set of GodSpeed coils, what did you expect for a knock off made in who knows where coilover? Did you check the top hats to see if they were all tightened down? I've seen various ebay generic coilovers that are sent and the top hat assemblies are hand loose. Did you go to the shop for an alignment?

So lemme guess...you slapped the coilovers on and didn't get an alignment...

I actually did get it aligned it happened after I converted to 5 lug and put rims on it.

take it to another shop and have them look over the front suspension

Could be the coilovers are exacerbating some other problem like bad balljoint or steering rack bushings...

Since it occurred after the 5 lug conversion, you can check if the wheels are balanced or tires are out of round.

i agree with zeratul, it sounds like the wheels are not balanced.

well I called back and they told me to use an allan head in the damper and try tightening the nut but below the damper knob is a smaller nut so I don't know if I need to loosen that first before I try to tighten the 23mm nut or do I not need to.

Although it sounds like a wheel balance issue or even an alignment issue, you really shouldn't have bought cheap coilovers. It shows your faith in the them when you went straight to blaming the coilover, rather than do a simple tire balance to confirm.

check your brakes they can sticks and intermittently grab. as you speed up they grab faster causing shaking, my s13 did this after 45 mph i felt it in my steering wheel and got my happy ass on google. that was my issue. caliper was loose tightened it up and we all good now
