so i went ahead and read the whole thing about it on yahoo groups, thanks to sykikchimp for posting the LINK (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=26705) and info. now my question is how did people install their swaybars with the preload? i already have my bars on and im feeling the body roll. when i installed them the first time, it was not loaded. just want to see how people did this.

on another note, i remember someone telling me that you can have different combonations with the swya bars. meaning both sides are in different holes. from what the rep from whiteline says

"Yes this does result in an intermediate stiffness setting, but also will
result in different forces resisting roll on either side of the car. The
difference in these forces, if it were large enough to be noticeable would
cause the car to squat slightly when cornering one way, and lift slightly
when cornering the other way."

i just want to throw that out and see what people say.

because they suck. ive always hated them. but some people love them
you installed them at regular ride height right? that was always the most important thing

if you swap the stock endlinks on, i liked it much more. might try that one day when you have time.

I installed the front on a week ago. Had the wheels straight with the car on a flat surface and got under and tightened the end links. Pain in the ass, but the car feels fine nothing noticably bad from it. Feels like a larger sway bar.

I used ramps. I love my whiteline sway bars, I have front and rear bars. Major improvement over the stock set up on my base S14. Even making an adjustment of one hole more or less stiff changes the way the car behaves. I wonder if the trick is in the end-links? Lots of people hate the Whitelines, lots love them. I wonder if it comes down to how you installed the end-links?!?

Im installing mine tomorrow, I have HE's on s13.
Which hole would be the best to use for the front white line sway bar, there are 3 holes, closest to driver, middle or farthest from driver.

another question do you have to install the swaybar(s) with the wheels planted on the ground? or can you do it on jackstands which im planning on doing.... Or is the flat ground only for tweeking?

You need to install the bars with the suspension loaded. So yes, on the ground or on ramps. I don't know how you are gonna get under the car with the tires on the ground.
I installed my bars at full stiff ( inner most hole ) and after a while adjusted the front bar one setting softer. Your car will be different, start with the same setting all around, full stiff or middle. Use the settings to dial in general handeling characteristics, use your damper settings and tire pressures to dial in the details for the day.

Bumping because this may help me.

I have 8/6 kg/mm springs, and these on full stiff, however set them with the wheels in the air (both off the ground)...

I get soooooo much oversteer it ain't funny...I was told with that much spring full stiff on both bars is the way to go.

I may need to play with this over the holidays.

Like everyone said, you can't install the bars when the car is in the air. The wheels have to be on the ground.

Install the bar, dont connect the endlinks, and then lower the car to the ground. The stock endlinks with the poly bushings whiteline gives you work well up front, and the rear endlinks...no idea. I forget whats back there. Iirc the rear you can adjust for preload, the front you can't. I need to make a front endlink which I can adjust, because its delaying the car in transitions and is sorta annoying.
