okay so i finally got my car back together all new oem gaskets. no leaks or anything, but after is started her up for the first time it was running better then ever i thought.... until the exhaust wrap on the manifold started to smoke so i shut her down.

This has been my first rebuild ever!

The timing belt is on perfectly i spent like 2 hours making sure because the first time i changed the water pump i jumped a cog. My wide band reading 14.7 on the dot idle is slightly high can some one help me out i really wanna drive my 240 again its almost spring!! :duh:

are you referring to "Header Wrap"? if so it will smoke a bit to burn off all the chemicals and oils that are present.

The first time you warm up a motor after handling it or alot of the parts it will smoke. The oil from your hands, as well as grease, other oil, etc gets onto the engine, and burns off. I was slightly worried the first time I saw it too lol.

[QUOTE=omgosh;5577928] Yea i was getting pretty scarred at first the smoke has stoped and the car seams to be running fine. I ran it for about a half hour no over heating the heater is cranking and no more white smoke out the tail pipe! :snoop:

Still looking for some front mount piping for
