i want to see if anyone has Fab'd up a custom mount for a camera. i want to make one, dont know how or where yet, but was thinking of putting a bar across the c-pillar and just welding on a mount for the camera on that. any ideas??

I saw one somewhere, it was attached to the headrests. The poles goign donw. worked pretty well, I'll have to see if I can find it... it extended toward the center of the car, with the camara on the end.

If you do that make it w/ quick-disconnect points so you can pull the bar out when you aren't using it. I've seen a couple people weld a mount onto their harness bar, but if you don't have one and/or don't run a 4-pt harness that won't help you very much. I'd suggest welding more than 1 mount point, so if you ever wanted to you could run multiple cameras. Also a driver cam, maybe somewhere in the passenger foot well would be cool. You could always go crazy and make a mount under your seat so you can edit up some crazy Best Motoring type footage of you workin' the fun pedals. Let us know however you do it, sounds like it could be cool. :yum:

It's not an S14 but as long as you have removeable headrests...

it's basically the same idea as driftaholic...

Although it's a little bit less ghetto (no offense to driftaholic).

It fits in the rear 1/4 window of my S14 so you can get a shot of what's ahead, outside the car, and also see the driver's hands. You can pretty much mount it anywhere on the car, actually.

This is what I was remembering. And what about those suction cups? where do you get those. I always thought of making an outside mount, but was/ am afraid of the camara coming off mid run!! But that looks strong.

I used dent puller suction cups. Just one is capable of supporting something like a hundred lbs or so......
