I have a grand to blow on the car, so i was wondering what to go with. Full coilovers or shocks and springs?
i want to lower the car, but i was wondering whats the best way to do it. Oh what are ajustable shocks? thanks peps

Adjusatble shocks allow you to adjust the preload on the shock and/or strut which either softens or harshens the ride.....bout as detailed as I can explain it...someone else will help you further...oh and by the way, I went with a pieced together set-up consisting of Tokiko Blues and Eibach Pro-kit springs and love the stiffer feel and lower stance. I feel it's one of the better combos for a daily driven car.....coilovers are just a little too pricey for me....for now....:)

if u want to raise AND lower car go with coilovers ie Ground Control, but u sacrifice ride quality no matter which shock u use. std KYB and Tokico shocks are great, but go with either adjustable if u can afford it....nice to be able to adjust soft-harsh like hondakillaS14 says.
if ride Q is big issue go with lowering springs ie Eibach, H&R or a Japanese brand...avoid $cheap s**t!
u can still afford $cheap strut bars front & rear with a grand. sway bars are killer for handling but another $300+. good luck!

That's about what I am going to be spending for a set of GAB shocks/struts and Eibach Pro-Kits (or possibly kg/mm's).  Good handling and a livable ride quality.  Shocks will make the most difference if you are going with a progressive spring or one with rates low enough to be comfortable on the street.  For that price, I'd avoid coilovers (like Apexi WS).

I would save up the extra 500 and get the apex coilover . I have the same pro-kit and tokiko set up , and I love it , but not all the time . You will find the adjustable height comes in handy for road trips or at the drag strip , or for auto-crossing .

From what my friends have told me the apex or tien's are the best.

Also a side note...you won't find adjustable shocks and/or struts for the S14 (I know it sucks)...well, actually Koni makes them, but they are inserts for your existing assemblies and are a pain in the ass to adjust them when needing to do so.....again, I love my combination now, but will eventually investing in some coilovers....
