Can you gain poower by taking out the resonator box? I took off the piping from the air box to the resonator box and i lost power, but i heard it made it faster to remove the resonator box. What's the difference?

Pretty much you will gain no power and if you do gain power it probably won't even add up to 1 HP. It's just an empty box for holding engine sound in, it isn't restricting anything.

The y pipe is a bit of restriction, but once you take it off you're sucking in air straight out of the engine bay. The potential gain would be negated by the warmer intake air...but it shouldn't be a loss. The only real advantage is it makes the car have a nice growl to it when you get on the throttle.
