Okay so here is the skinny - vvt blacktop sr20det, 740cc injectors, z32 MAFS, JWT ecu, blitz dd bov. So my oil gauge reads about 25 psi when just cruising at like 45 and about 50 psi on the throttle, yet at idle (about 1000rpm) it goes to like 5 psi. Also, the cooling system is as follows: koyo alumminum radiator, 2400cfm fan, nismo 1.3 bar cap, new water pump. Today it wanted to overheat after about 20 minutes of driving in 85 degree night weather - any tips for air removal from the system because i thought it was all out of there. Im so fed up with this car - last $14000 engine investment i make :(
Thanks in advance, Ryan

well, run the car with the radiator cap open so air comes out as you fill it, when it fills all the way up, after the air comes out, put the radiator cap back on. Theres a bleeder valve on the waterneck closest to the Crank angle sensor, that black thing on the ehxuast manifold side. Open up the screw on the waterneck to bleed out some air. That overheating could be an airbubble, also could be the thermostat, or a leaky rubber hose like from the coolant to the heater box. Make sure u're not leaking coolant from anywhere else.
Make sure u get it running i wanna see how ur gt2871 turns out ! as far as oil pressure, im not a big expert, I know that pressure does change when ur on the throttle and at idle.

Ill try that with the rad cap open tomorrow, as far as the other advice, heater box hoses have been redone with heavy clamps so that is all good....no leaks except a tiny bit from rad cap...nismo sucks balls

Checked the oil pan and banged it out a bit and made sure my pickup was fine - thanks for the idea though....racking the brain is getting OLD.
Thanks to you guys so far...

Sounds like my problem...so far for me...it points out to a bad oil pump. It runs great when cold, but once its all nice and warm...oil pressure goes down the shitter. *bout 3-5psi depending on how its been running at idle* I say try a heavier weight oil and see if that works. Rite now im running 20-50 and i got bout an extra bar out of it when its hot.
As for the temp, when you do all that...one thing that guys forgot to mention. turn your heater on. Have that cranked to HOT and full blast it to let it the coolant circulate tru the heater box. Also squeezing the upper radiator hose helps bleed some bubbles out.

it could be you radiator cap. my car was overheating and i couldn't figure out what the problem was, so i took it to my mechanic and he said it might be the thermostat or radiator cap. i repalced the thermostat, that did nothing. so i went to discount auto and bought an 8 dollar radiator cap. bam that fixed the problem. so its worth a try to replace the cap cuz it fixed my car.

Oh wait....whats the Chassis??? Cuz i just remembered something. on my S13 blacktop, I had to swap the water temp sensor off the SR with my KA one. The SR sensor sends a higher voltage than the KA one and causes your gauge to go off the chart. My guage used to peg at H but then swapped it for a new sensor from the dealer and its nice and cool in the middle now. Call Phase2motortrend and talk to Wayne and ask him if you do have to do that just to verify it.

If your valves are clacking and you have no oil up top you may not be fully primed. Take off the bottom turbo oil line and pour some down there. Most likely your oil pump was damaged in shipment or sitting somewere. Just get a new one.

^^^ Damn you, you make it sound like changing the oil pump is such an easy thing to do!!!
