I'm about to push my car into lava.

I've been having a hell of a time trying to get my car to where I can actually drive it. It will idle and drive excellent one moment and then out of nowhere, it will buck and hesitate on the throttle and if I put in the clutch, it will stall. Sometimes it will be idling just fine and then randomly stall.

I have a mechanic friend trying to help me but he owns a muscle car garage and isn't familiar with my car at all but he's doing his best to learn with me. We checked fuel pressure and it came up 40psi (stock is 42, right? didn't seem like much of a difference). When it is running fine, it pulls decently and revs normally.

Things I've replaced/changed:
Timing chain (it had the marble tin can shit going on and the chain was really loose)
O2 sensor
Knock sensor
Disconnected EGR
Cleaned MAFS
Spark Plugs

Codes being thrown:
Air Temperature Sensor
Cam Positioning Sensor

From the symptoms I read about ATS and CPS, they didn't seem to fit the bill. I have searched and searched for somebody having a problem like mine and most are either unsolved or they fixed things that I've already fixed and yet I still have the issues. This is terrible and I'm so fucking sick of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sooooooo you have a cam position sensor code? Considered replacing the cam position sensor?

And when you DO find lava, please come tell the rest of us. I'm all out.

Haha, I think I have a few buckets stored in my chest. I'll just pour it on a rock and drive my car into the fallout if it doesn't insta gib me.

But yea... the CPS is pretty expensive and from what I've read, it doesn't really cause a problem like this so I've been avoiding it. Is it possible the MAFS is fucked but not throwing a code? How do you go about verifying F/A ratios to see if the MAFS is functioning correctly?
