Hi all,
Just wanted feedback from folks on if you guys would like brand new, OEM S13 Chuki lips? I just bought one in almost perfect condition and Im going to have it restored and molded ASAP for polyurethane production!
This is the OEM Chuki lip for those who have no idea what Im talking about...
http://dorkidori.com/chuki_lip.jpg
Im going to try to keep the pricing around $150 to $175 shipped in the US. This is NOT a fiberglass lip, it will be made of the same plastic that the original was produced in so fitment and scraping wont be an issue! Nissan hasnt made this lip since about 2003 and as most of you know, they pretty much dont exist anymore! and if you do find one, theyre usually beat to hell and broken!
Once I get pricing for the molds, I will be taking pre-orders for them (should be sometime next week), so yeah, let me know if youre interested!

It's funny how small the lip is but how much of an esthetic difference it actually makes. I like it, but personally dont think a lot of people would pay that much for that lip. Not bashing as I am a fan of oem aero.

$150-$175 SHIPPED vs $400 that nissan use to charge.
and yes, i understand you guys want pignose lips. im working on that as well!

a replicated xenon lip wouldnt cost much more than they do brand new. repping something doesnt always mean CHEAP like so many 240 kids think it does. im repping parts to make them readily available because things are going extinct with the way people destroy these cars and all the parts they put on them.

Im not saying your prices are unreasonable. Simply saying that the "240 kids" will most likely not pay.

I think if you made the lip maybe .25" thicker/taller more ppl may want it?
The OEM lip is nice but I always felt it would look better if it was very slightly taller.

Very reasonable price and would gladly pay that for a pignose lip, so glad to hear you're working on it

Make a pignose lip that fits better on s13 silvia bumper in urethane!!
As for the chuki lip, I don't have interest. I actually unbolted it and threw it away on my first 240sx.

im giving thought to making it slightly longer. i have an accord lip on my chuki bumper currently and its about .5" longer making it look a lot more aggressive. i could probably splice the two together fairly easily!

Why don't you make a Kouki type x lip in POLYURETHANE, since there is only frp replicas. The oem go for 500+ and probably beat up shape, Am sure you can make a good profit out of it.
I just don't see anyone who will pay $150 for a a lip that can barely be seen (Maybe one or two).

i like the idea definitely, i remember back in 06 i searched junkyards for months trying to find one that wasn't destroyed, i also definitely support the idea of pignose lips and kouki lips aswell

the reason your bumper sags (and why every chuki bumper sags) is because when you cut the inside out for the FMIC, you ruin the structural rigidness of the bumper. regardless if you have the metal support pieces in or not, it just doesnt have enough material left in it for the bumper to hold its shape. i thought about developing a metal plate to pull the bumper back up and use the OEM bolt holes, but it would be way too expensive to produce and ship for most 240 owners to justify using.

thats on hold for a bit. im not comfortable going close to $10,000 in debt to make the mold right now. ive got a few freelance gigs im working on plus some more shirts, once i have more physical cash to put down (which should be about a month away), im going all in. but going THAT far in debt for something that isnt an immediate return on investment is very scary.

Never, the market for them is just too small, not to mention they wouldn't be any cheaper than current prices. There are still a ton of them on yahoo japan.

yeah if you cut it like that it definitely will have that sag, that was just because the bumper was only on there for a short time after i sold my aero until i got my new aero but if you cut it down to where all that is left is the mounting point for the lip and the lip is still rigid and not all cracked up it'll still run straight across, even tho it looks bad because so much is cut out

$150 is pretty damn reasonable if the necessary hardware (if any needed) is included.

no hardware will be included. its a lip, get a drill and some screws and youre done (or nuts and bolts or zipties etc etc). for me to actually create a metal mounting system like the OEM version would cost a pretty penny and i know 98% of 240 owners would opt to just mount it themselves (me included)
