Ok guys, I've just finished my SR swap but have a strange idle problem. It bobs and I'm not too sure what component is causing it. Any ideas?

it can be tons of stuff :werd: be more specific =). try the usual crap.. make sure no leaks are present in vacuum hoses, MAFS clean, dbl check that ur cylinders are in the proper firing order.. ive been seeing this way too much lately.. oh yea, double check your engine grounds.. that fixed it for me..

Alrighty well, the grounds are good, mafs is clean, intake and exhaust side of the head and manifolds are clean, the cylinders are in proper firing order, and the vacuum lines are good. I've removed the carbon canister and the lower vac hose plug on the throttle body's been capped off. The timing is at 15 dead on. I'll double check that one cap but I doubt that's causing the bobbing.

Dude,
I bet you $1,000,000 you have a vacuum leak/ran the vac lines wrong. :) (Well.. no I won't. But it seems like the most obvious thing to me at the moment. But then I haven't eaten and I'm tired)
Did you try the soapy water trick yet?
I'mma call you later... I'm eating :p

I just switched to colder plugs because its all that the store had and I was in a bind. My idle is lumpy now, and it will stall when its still cold. Putting in different plugs as soon as I can get them.
So possibly that could be a problem for others?

hell.. just replace the O2 sensor =), and while ur at it, replace the coolant temp sensor.. $40 for both, but its worth it.. did i mention buying a Z32 fuel filter and throwing it on? fuel filters can cause a problem.. keep me informed. oh yea.. dbl check that all the stuff connected to your intake is on properly, that can cause a stall.

thanks for the reply guys. It was a vac leak, everything was on but I pushed down on that pipe with the hose that runs right next to the throttle and it solved the problem.
DJ_Sunrise, where'd you find the o2 sensor for the sr? I've got that fat type for the blacktop and which temp sensor is compatable with the SR? I'm assuming either the KA's or the NA SR's temp sensor but would like a verification before I go dump some more money on my car.
thanks again guys for all the replies.

yea i mention that the O2 sensor is what is wrong with mine but i have tried now to get 3 and each one is not the right one.. i took it off and went to a nissan dealer here and they looked at me dumb founded... keep in mind there are a lot of idiots where i live..
If anyone knows a nissan part# for an O2 sensor that will work that would help me alot
