Looking to pick up a 92 hatch later today, rebuilt motor w/ paperwork, and new clutch/pressure plate and slave but the clutch pedal doesn't feel right.

-Clutch grabs perfect and at the bottom like a new clutch should but going down on the pedal feels like a gas pedal with a car off, takes no strength at all.

-If I don't hold it long enough and shift fast, it grinds (trans fluid is swapped out with royal purple synchromesh)

-Clutch fluid is just above minimum

-No signs of a leak (need to re-inspect) no history of clutch/brake fluid leaks reported by the seller

Any ideas?

Bleed the damn lines, remove the clutch dampener loop if its still there and adjust the pedal.

Apparently.
The issue is more of needing proper insight before purchasing it.
Thank you.

Take some fluid with you, pull the rubber cover off the slave and see if there is fluid leaking out of it. If there is, replace it and bleed the system. If not, bleed the system. It's super easy with two people, you don't even need to get under the car.

(If the stock damper block is still there, delete that shit ASAP)

Buy new slave and master no matter what previous owner claims. Swap em out, have somebody pump the clutch bam done. 30 minutes tops.
