S13 speed sensor not working?

Alright, so with the help of my dad, we been having trouble why the speed sensor isn't working. At first we thought it was the speed sensor itself, so we go to a junkyard and get one. Realized it was an auto speed sensor when we needed a manual one. We decided to test it anyways with the auto to see if the speedometer moved, but it did not. We found it strange cause it should of moved. So then we thought something else is wrong. It couldn't be the cluster since the rpm/gas/temp work. So we see the wiring for the speed senor and notice it was bad. Previous owner had mess with the wiring and put a seperate wire going to the plug. At the time, the wire wasn't put on right, so we tried to put it better. Atlast it had work, but for a short time. Im guessing the fuse burned out or something cause it does't give voltage anymore. Now im wondering how can i fix this?
