anyone know if its possible to fit coil overs off of a 96 3 series on to a s14? I understand they may ride like crap but Im just curious if the actual sleeve and spring will fit properly.

of course not. why on earth would you do that anyways, like there aren't any companies that make coilovers for S14's?
go away.

E36 suspension isn't the same as the S14, in the rear the spring and shock are mounted separately.

Sure you can. I heard you can fit Ford F350 suspension on a S14 too. Go for it!

Thankyou for the information.
I see this bored follows the same flaming guide lines as club SI and honda-tech. I just want to commend you guys on flaming away new members. I guess having a 900+ post count doesnt disqualify from still being a newb or a being a dick.

Dude, you asked the stupidest question I have ever read on here. It's even stupider than the guy's question about asking how to pull off hubcaps. You clearly have never seen the suspension components you were asking about and have most likely never worked on either of these cars. How can you ask a question like that with no background knowledge? Serious.

the only stupid question is the one not asked. I know you were born with a wrench in your hand and you have been running 11's since you were 3 and I know your in ALL the magazines.. So I aplogize for having to start somewhere.

it's not a matter of automotive knowledge... it's more like a matter of common sense. was it engineered for the s14? no. so why would you even considering putting it on there?

Your statement is *partially* true...insofar that the question actually makes any sense in the first place. I mean, if you had taken 5 minutes to search for some images of BMW suspensions and 240 suspensions, you should have seen that they're fundamentally very different.
I agree that the flaming was rather harsh and somewhat uncalled for...but you have to understand that the people on this board are very dedicated and focused on their cars. To ask something like that is grounds for bashing.
I mean, look at it this way. What you asked is similar to someone saying...can I put a 5.0 in my VW Golf? If you asked that on VWVortex, what do you think the response would be?
Oh, and one other thing. Shocks, springs, suspension...car parts in general...they can ALL go on ANY car you want. With enough $$$$$. (seriously) You could hack the whole back end off an S14 and an E46 and swap them...but it would be a completely retarded idea.

Exactly. Don't take it so personally when somebody tells you off,if you need/want to learn about the car then you are going to get flamed a couple-a times. Everybody falls down when they are learning to walk.
